Frequently Asked Questions

What type of problem do your treatments cover?

Our aim is to treat an individual's own unique set of problems, rather than label their difficulties. We therefore cover a wide range of treatments. We work with clients who experience the following and other conditions - stress including work stress anxiety disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), panic disorders, generalised anxiety disorder, phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, eating disorders, anger management and assertiveness problems, poor interpersonal skills, somatic disorders/health anxiety, self-image and self-esteem problems; bereavement, relationship issues, problems around sexuality, sexual dysfunction, impulse control disorders (drinking, substance misuse, gambling problems etc); back pain, postural difficulties or specific injury.

How do I know which treatment to choose?

All clients are assessed by one of our professional team regarding suitability and what therapy/therapies may be beneficial. A treatment plan will be made with you offering you choice and flexibility and reviewed with you on a regular basis.

Do you offer medication advice?

We do not prescribe medication or offer advice on what medication individuals should be taking, other than supplements suggested by the nutritionist or occasionally over the counter herbal remedies. We can suggest questions for you to discuss with your GP or psychiatrist if you have one.

I have mobility problems: are the premises accessible?

Due to the nature and layout of the building, we are unable to see clients with a physical disability at our therapy centre. We will however see clients with disabilities (physical and mental health) in their own homes to assess and carry out identified therapies.

Why should I choose Body and Soul?

There are few British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy accredited therapists in the area and NHS waiting lists for CBT therapists or psychologists are considerable. We can offer faster access to treatment and also out of normal office hours, providing less disruption to your lifestyle. There are a few centres offering either psychological or complementary therapy but no practice offers the full range of services we provide under one roof, outside of a hospital. Body and Soul premises are discrete and because a range of services are available, the nature of the treatment remains entirely confidential. Our therapists' qualifications are checked and the services we offer are evidence based and of a high standard. Our prices are highly competitive and value for money.
